Jump in berm

The trails have been soaking up all of the rain. Looks like another week of rain. Starting to tarp the bigger stuff to minimize rework after the T-Storms. My project of jumping  into the berm after the 180 berm is getting real close to trying out. Other stuff continues to get dialed throughout the trails. I actually put the shovel down and got some warm up runs in Sunday. Looking forward to a lot more riding time soon. A couple of visitors made it out this weekend to hangout. Hopefully some riding photos or video coming soon.

The dirt was the perfect shade of brown from the moisture. The moisture she had been begging for for weeks. The trees are finally starting to show signs of green. The trails are happy again, besides wanting more people to come dig and ride. Almost everything is to the point of needing ridden before more dialing is done. Weather is looking decent for the next 5 days after today. Come on down and dig and get some laps in.

I never thought I would be building a pond when I woke up Saturday morning. Planned on going to work a 1/2 a day then the trails to dial some more lips. The place was dry and it rained the day before. As we walked into the trails we noticed the 1st pond experiment failed and the water stored up the night before disappeared. We refocused on a smaller pond of about 8 foot x 10 foot x 3 foot deep. I did a power dig with Brad back filling with our over abundance of rocks followed by multiple plastic tarps along with a new piece of plastic. The idea is to fill the holding pond from the creek 150 to 200 feet away. Then reposition the generator and sump pump to the holding pond. From there we eventually plan on running permanent hose through out the trails with multiple spray nozzles. Planning on being able to throughly soak anything for new construction or repair. We will see what happens. Hopefully we can keep the dogs out of the pond.

In general the trails are dry and we are way a head of schedule compared to normal. Need rain or the watering system up and running to water and ride stuff in. Probably just going to be photo updates on the blog for a while. Too busy in general and the home computer is acting up. Stopped at Catty on Monday afternoon while traveling for work and found some more inspiration to ride. Have plenty of inspiration to dig already. Checked out the craziness and talked to Abe while he was building. Can't wait to get back and wish we had some down hill to our trails, but it is all good. Come on down and throw some shovels.

March update

NBL Line with the boosted transfer landing on the right and the old last berm missing. New landing on left for not transferring and future easier line to be named.

The Roller Line is ready for some jibbing and the winter digging on it is drying out nicely.

It has been a while since a real update on the trails, but that's because works been getting done at the trails. It was an awesome winter for getting digging done at the trails and Brad and me got more done then we were hoping for. Everything is untarped right now trying to soak up whatever water the jumps can find. The place is drying out quickly and a plan is in action to build a reservior near the center of the trails to store water transferred from the creek. We are betting on an extremely dry spring and summer, because of the dry winter and planning on doing what we need to do to have dialed trails no matter what rain we get.

Roller Line is raked out and ready to ride in. The Main Line is raked out to the long-n-low and buttering is taking place. The Left Lines need some work, but can be going quickly.

Our weekday trail local from Cleveland has been putting in a lot of work. Dan P. has the newly renamed Revolver Line looking the best it ever has. If he can find a bike, I think it is ready to be sent up through the 4th set then onto un-charted territory on the 5th and 6th set.

Get to the trails, you're a couple 100 wheel barrow loads behind before you can ride. Just kiddin', get to the trails and enjoy the weather. Blog updates should start becoming regular again. Get on your bikes and ride.

Sunday Trail Squad Video

Near future, Farmboy Trails dad's club member #2, Chevy T-Bog from '09 jam. Less then a month to go before his little devil arrives and my Digga turns 9 months old today. Pumped on the future Farmgirl BMX racing team gaining another member soon.

Winter trail digging has slowed to a craw in the last 2 weeks, but todays looking good with the snow melted again and temps higher then normal. No pics from the last month of digging, but people are going to be shocked and pumped when they see what Brad and I have hammered out in only a couple of sessions. Pumped on the trails and now even more from the video.

December Digging

Top to bottom the pics show the progress of the Roller Line expansion project from late November thru end of today. Not too many people have seen any of it yet, because you are suppose to be indoors riding the ramper ramps and Brad and me are still hiding in the woods. We have been kicking the shit out of the Roller Line any chance we get. Early into today's digging session on the new step-up landing we called it good until next spring. A new set, left berm and step-up need ridden and dialed before we dig anymore on it. The completion of the Roller Line is in sight and I think we should re-name the line Barbwire. It's only fitting since the line follows the old fence perimeter from when the place was barbwired for livestock and there are now sets.

We moved over to the NBL line near the transfer left landing and right berm after it and started the next mass digging project. The new plan for the NBL Line will use a pushed out and boosted up transfer left landing to top secret unique stuff. I'm not saying much more about it besides the right berm is 60% gone. Come on down and dig and maybe we will spill the beans. If this awesome December weather continues to hold out the next lip should go up fast. Build your own fun, get to the trails.
